The Three S's for Successful Blogging by Agency Entourage

Sure, anyone can host a blog and post content; however, few can do it effectively. If you can capture viewers by making them interested in what you’re writing about and compel them to share it, you’ll make it in the blogging world. Here are three S’s for successful blogging to help you get there:

1. Short
When it comes to blogging, let’s be honest, size matters. Your content may be informative; however, if your post is too long, no one will read far enough to understand your mesasge. Drill your information down to the big picture. By pinpointing the meaning you are trying to convey, it will be easier to keep your information refined.

2. Sweet
Keep your tone positive―even if your information is negative. The last thing people want to read is another complaint. Readers will be more inclined to spend time looking at your blog if your writing is not only interesting, but also makes them feel good. A positive tone is only a start; add a dash of wit and a pinch of intrigue to complete your recipe for feel-good blogging.

3. Simple
You may think using unfamiliar terms will make you sound intellectual and establish credibility; however, your audience won’t understand what you mean. Don’t make your readers Google words or phrases in your post. Instead, use language that is straightforward and readable. In other words, keep it simple! The quality of your information will ultimately establish your credibility―not your word choice.

Each of these S’s focus on an important element: your audience. It’s easy for bloggers to become so consumed with generating content that they forget about who’s reading their posts. Remember to always keep your audience in mind when blogging. By focusing on your audience in establishing these S’s with your blog posts, you’ll set yourself apart from the rest.
