According to Econsultancy, Sony’s Pinterest platform has driven:
“These results aren’t surprising,” said Responsys’ Chad White. “Pinterest links are creeping into emails with 28 percent of retailers linking to their Pinboards, 7 percent promoting Pinterest contests, and 4 percent using “pin it” sharing links in their emails.” By promoting Pinterest in email campaigns, Sony has been able to greatly increase traffic to the Sony website.
Pinterest is a social media management platform where followers not only want to engage with the brand, but also are interested in purchasing from that brand. It’s already leading the pack by being the platform where consumers follow the most brands. Social media users follow an average of 9.3 retailers compared to 8.5 on Twitter and 6.9 on Facebook, according to a Shop.org study.
