Greetings!
My name is Eskinder Abebe and I’m one of the summer 2017 interns here at Agency Entourage. I will be working with the Interactive Media Group this summer, which is very exciting!
My Background
I’m a student at SMU pursuing a B.A. in Creative Computing and an M.F.A. in Design and Innovation. I usually get “you’re artistic” or “you’re a tech-savvy person,” but I believe these don’t have to be mutually exclusive. Most of my art/computing work influenced by different cultures and traditions were inspired by making a humanitarian impact.
Before I started my undergraduate at SMU, I studied Painting at Alle School of Fine Arts and Design at Addis Ababa University. I usually like to do illustrations and ink drawings. I’m currently writing my first comic, and I am planning to finish it by the end of this year.
Work and Hobby
I’m interested in bridging the gap between art and science, which led me to my major – Creative Computing. I also enjoy playing video games and creating conceptual art using 3-D modeling and digital painting in Photoshop.
I like to challenge myself and I believe the rewards are double fold. While working with the Hunt Institute for Engineering and Humanity last year, I took a challenge to design an affordable tablet for the means of expanding literacy. In the process, I learned about CAD design, printing 3-D parts, managing student teams and working with different stakeholders.
I’m happy that Agency Entourage gave me this internship opportunity, and I am looking forward to working with the team!
