On my first day as an AE Intern, I was immediately pulled into meetings with real clients and taking a look at real projects. We were going “fast and furious” as Brandon, our Account Service Director, said. With experiences like this on my very first day, I can only imagine how hands-on, dense, and instructive my internship will be here at Agency Entourage.
The Newest 2018 AE Intern
My name is Alexandra Hinojosa, better known as Alex or ‘Kiwi’ by my closest friends and family (it’s a long story.) I grew up here in Dallas in a very artistic family, which each sibling focusing on different forms of art. I was the “visual artist” of the group.
From childhood, I began drawing and painting, and by high school I was working on sculptures, pottery, and mixed-media art forms. All of this eventually led to graphic design, which is what I wanted to study in college. I always knew I wanted to do something with my creativity.
I visited SMU as a high school senior, and was encouraged by a professor to come visit an advertising class. Little did I know, that in a few short months, I would be an actual SMU student (pony up!) in that same exact class with that same professor, and absolutely in love with my major.
As soon as I arrived to college, I did everything I could to get a good start in my career and apply to the advertising program of Temerlin Advertising Institute. After months of hard work and going through a rigorous application process, I was accepted into the program my freshmen year.
Ever since then, I have been working on many campaigns, graphic design projects, videos, and more as part of growing as a creative and working towards starting my professional career.
I am now a senior at SMU and will be graduating in May. I’m ready to hit the ground running!
My Hobbies
A few of my other hobbies include watching great films, attending concerts and music festivals, and traveling as much as possible. I spent a semester abroad in London last year, and was lucky to travel around Europe. I experienced an infinite amount of events and made memories that I will cherish forever.
I also really enjoy the outdoors. I like hiking, skiing, and running. I actually ran for my school’s cross-country team from 5th grade until I graduated high school. Then I ran the NYC marathon when I was 19! It was amazing, but also horrible. It was extremely hard. Nothing a couple Shake Shack burgers can’t fix, though! (Okay, no, I was actually in a lot of pain for a few days.) I’m also obsessed with television shows, my Mexican culture, and Japan for some reason?
Thanks for a very warm welcome to the Entourage team. I’m excited to see what the next few months will bring. If you’re interested in the AE Internship or have any questions, please email info@agencyentourage.com for more information.
