Hello! My name is Alyssa Simmons, and I go to the best university in the nation, the University of Texas at Austin.
Unlike most people, I didn’t know what I wanted to do with my life, let alone what college I wanted to attend. Originally, I thought I wanted to go into journalism. So, I went to the journalism school at the University of Missouri. But it wasn’t the right fit for me, so I left.
Hoping I would find something I was passionate about, I decided to take classes I thought would peak my interests. I took classes in criminal investigation, photography, and advertising. I immediately fell in love with advertising, and I couldn’t stop reading my textbook. If you know me at all, I’m not the type to read books often, let alone a schoolbook, but, I loved seeing people’s ideas come to life and how creative people could be. With that said, I immediately transferred my major to advertising and have been loving it ever since.
Something most people don’t know about me is I am obsessed with goats. Although, it doesn’t take long to notice my obsession. Last week I attended goat yoga, and it’s probably been the most exciting thing that’s happened to me. Aside from my love for goats, I have a love for traveling. On my free time, you will most likely find me taking photographs of nature, jamming out to music, eating mac n’ cheese, or cuddling with my 90-pound one-year-old Labrador, Duke.
This is my first real internship, and I couldn’t be more excited and grateful for this opportunity. I know advertising is what I was born to do, and I couldn’t be more excited to graduate and work in my field. I can’t wait to see what Agency Entourage has in store for me, what connections I build along the way, and how I will grow in my field.
