¡Hola! I’m Amanda, one of Agency Entourage’s newest Junior Interactive Producers!
I grew up in San Antonio but moved to the up-and-coming Oak Cliff area of Dallas in 2007. I graduated from the University of Texas at Arlington in May of 2012 with a B.A. in Journalism featuring a Visual Communication emphasis and a B.A. in Spanish. Sí, hablo español, pero no soy una experta. Estoy aprendiendo más cada día.
I didn’t always want to be a writer; I originally wanted to travel the world, taking photos for magazines like Time and National Geographic. Now, if you’re thinking those gigs are hard to get — you’re right! Especially if living out of a suitcase starts to sound less and less exciting. I kept my passion for photography by switching my studies to photojournalism and started my own photography business, Veritas Photography.
With the journalism world shifting, I quickly realized that having one specialty wasn’t enough to make it. Fortunately, the photojournalism-degree program changed, which allowed me to hone in on my photography skills, create my own website from HTML and CSS, design logos and write like a mass media pro.
My last semester, I was lucky enough to snag an internship at Agency Entourage, which helped sharpen my skills, like creating infographics, writing and digital marketing. This internship also inspired me to create my own blog for Veritas Photography where I can geek-out about photography as much as I want. Thank you, Internet!
When I’m not plugging away on Facebook or behind my Canon 60D, I work part time at Just Add Jeans, a fabulous women’s boutique in the Bishop Arts District of Dallas. On top of being a photography nerd, I’m a certified cinephile and news junkie. I especially love movies that combine my passions. (Anchorman and Almost Famous, anyone?)
I’m excited to work for the great people at Agency Entourage and really flex my writing muscles. Not to mention working so close to my home in downtown Dallas and not having to live out of a suitcase is an added bonus.
