Buckle your seat belts! Facebook is about to shake things up once again. Word on the social media streets is that Facebook will begin making the new Timeline format available for brands sometime around the end of this month.

According to Ad Age,  Facebook will make the official announcement about Timeline for brand pages at the Facebook Marketers Conference (fMC) on February 29 in New York City. The new format will first be available only to a handful of brands before being rolled out to all.

Back in September, Mark Zuckerberg personally introduced Timeline for personal Facebook pages at the F8 conference and explained how users would use it to share the story of their entire lives on their profiles. Facebook has been pretty tight-lipped about how exactly Timeline for brand pages will look and work, but most are speculating that they will be similar to personal pages.

My guess is that brands will have a cover photo consistent with personal profiles. As for apps, I imagine they’ll have their own boxes below the cover photo where Facebook Timeline users currently find their friends, photos, music apps, etc. But again, that’s just speculation. We’ll have to wait to see what Facebook has up their sleeve.
