“Get off your butt and get a job,” they told me. Funny, I’ve finally found a great opportunity and it landed me on my rear. In a good way.
After a long road of economic barriers, “volunteer” gigs, and working full-time on my feet in a restaurant, I’ve landed the job that pushes my creative capacity whilst seated (optionally).
The desk job for some is a symbol of success. “The American Dream” if you will. And trust me, after scraping my way to the top to find myself sitting in the sky with Agency Entourage, it’s quite the success to me. Being that we work in a suite on the 9th floor, I guess it’s appropriate to say I’m on Cloud 9.
Granted, nothing worth having in life will ever be easy. But, it’s easy to say I look forward to working my “seat” off as the new account coordinator with a group of creative individuals.
Some background:
I was born a Navy brat on the coast of Maine. Lived in Virginia, Nebraska, Texas (Beaumont and Austin). Moved to Dallas when I was ten years old, picking up percussion, golf, and baseball; later to discover the bliss of cycling. Graduated from Texas Tech University with a B.A. in Advertising and Minor in Psychology. Obtained a graphic design certification from Southern Methodist University to further enhance my design abilities and opinions. I volunteer for OutHunger – a 501(c)3 devoted to ending child hunger. I love learning about emerging digital platforms and how they will propel us into the future.
Things About Me:
I cycle 100 miles per week.
Dog person. But I like cats, if they’re a dog.
Perfect day: Boom. Life. Wake up. Search the web for the new new. Eat. Cycle around the world. Eat. Nap. Eat. Watch a Texas Rangers game on a Summer evening. Eat. Fall asleep while reading. Boom. End.
I want to thank everyone in my life for the support, advice, and encouragement that enabled me to strive toward my goals. Every acquaintance, every friend, and especially my dear family. I wouldn’t be here without you!
