Hi everyone! My name is Alyssa Pellegreen, and I am a senior at the University of Oklahoma with a major in advertising and a minor in Spanish. I plan to graduate in December, so I only have one semester left! There is truly no other way I’d rather spend my last summer of college than interning at Agency Entourage.
Why Advertising?
I always knew that I wanted to work in business, but I also have a creative side to me that I just couldn’t ignore. That’s when I discovered the field of advertising. I have been an advertising major since my first day of freshman year and have never looked back. Each class, job, and experience I have with advertising only affirms that this is the right career path for me. It genuinely is the perfect mixture of business and creativity!
Why OU?
My family moved a lot when I was growing up, but when we finally settled down in Flower Mound, Texas, when I was around 10 years old, I knew I had found my home. However, when it came to choosing where I wanted to go to college, my head was turned…due north. When I went to go tour the University of Oklahoma, I was so impressed by the Gaylord College of Journalism and Mass Communication that I knew Oklahoma was the school for me. My years at college have only proved that I made the right choice. From working with real clients in our student-run advertising agency to studying abroad in the U.K., OU has offered me countless opportunities and provided me with an amazing college experience.
What’s next?
Like I said before, I feel like Texas is my home, and I plan to return soon! Once I graduate, I hope to work in either the DFW or Austin area. My dream job would be to work with digital content creation and/or strategy. I am especially interested in working with social media and connecting brands and influencers. I know that I will learn so much more about advertising this summer, and I am beyond excited to start my journey at Agency Entourage!
