Hello! My name is Kennedy Thornton. I’m so excited to be a creative intern here at Agency Entourage and to get to work on exciting projects with some really cool people! But first, a little bit about me.
How it All Started
I’m a senior at the University of North Texas (Go Mean Green!) studying Advertising and minoring in Photography. I’ve grown up in Rockwall, TX for most of my life, and choosing to attend UNT was one of the best decisions I could have made. In my junior year of high school, I visited the Mayborn School of Journalism at UNT and talked to an advisor named Monique. At the time, I had absolutely no idea what I wanted to do, major-wise. I knew I loved photography, design and the occasional video editing, but didn’t know how I could turn that into a viable career choice. When I told Monique what I liked to do, she immediately responded, “Oh, then you might enjoy Advertising.” Advertising? That’s a career? High-school me had no idea. But Monique then proceeded to describe the degree plan and the type of creative-focused classes I would be taking. I got SO excited. I had so many questions, and Monique was happy to answer them all. Sadly, Monique isn’t an advisor there anymore, because I would love to tell her today how much her help impacted me. But I still remember her as the person who helped me find (and get excited for) my career path. I left her office that day confident in what I wanted to pursue, and excited for the future. God has been so faithful, and here I am, already getting to live that future.
The More You Know
As I mentioned before, I love photography. I’ve been shooting for over 8 years now, and I love doing photo shoots for people, as well as being out in nature and photographing what I see. Sunsets are my jam! When I’m not photographing, you can probably find me reading a book or watching a movie. Fun fact, you can probably ask me almost anything about the Marvel Cinematic Universe and I could definitely give you the rundown. In addition to books and movies, I love to play tennis. I played competitively for 6 years growing up, and in college I still like to play for fun when I have the chance. More than anything, however, I love spending time with my friends and family. They’re extremely important parts of my life, vital to the person I’ve become today. And I’m so thankful for that!
Living the Future
As I’m approaching graduation, I am excited for the opportunities of growth and experience within the world of advertising here at Agency Entourage. For the past 2 years, I’ve been working as a social media and advertising intern at a real estate group in Rockwall, both in the office and remotely. I’m excited to take what I learned there and continue to learn even more! I love that Agency Entourage wants to give their interns the education and experience needed to learn, grow and succeed. At AE, I look forward to learning as much as I can, gaining real-world experience, getting to know the people I will be working with, and having fun with it, all at the same time. Advertising is a career, huh? Sign me up!
