Announced Monday, it appears that LinkedIn has jumped on the bandwagon with social buttons. Much like the “Like” button for Facebook and the “Follow” button for Twitter and Pinterest, LinkedIn now allows companies to embed a “Follow Company” button onto their homepages. This will allow LinkedIn users to follow a company on LinkedIn directly from the company’s website. If the user is already logged into LinkedIn, they will be able to follow the company right then and there. If not, all they will have to do is login and they’ll be instantly connected. Then, the user will receive the company’s news and updates straight to their LinkedIn news feed.
“Whether you are looking to stay up-to-date on company news, career opportunities or industry trends, following companies on LinkedIn is a great and easy way to gain insights and stay connected,” LinkedIn reports on their blog proving the site is getting a little more “socially friendly” with its users. “So far, American Express, AT&T and Starbucks, among others, have committed to adding the [LinkedIn] button,” Todd Wasserman writes in a Mashable article.
Obviously this is a great tactic in using LinkedIn for your company as the business networking site has created a more professional setting for connecting and networking. And with over 150 million users and counting, any company, whether big or small, should definitely be incorporating LinkedIn into their online marketing strategy. It would be worthwhile in finding new business opportunities and significant connections. You can create your company’s Follow Company button here.
