December is approaching and that means my first internship is coming to an end. If I interned at any other agency, I’d probably miss bringing in donuts and coffee in the mornings and performing busy work. Luckily I didn’t intern at any old agency, but a real-work digital marketing agency. My time as an Agency Entourage intern has been filled with many new and important learning experiences.
First, I learned the true terror of traffic during my daily commute from Denton to downtown Dallas. Walking in through those glass doors and seeing everyone was the light at the end of the tunnel. That’s another thing. I could see everyone. There weren’t any walled-in areas or separate cubicles, everyone worked together in an open space and the two offices always had their doors open. Agency Entourage taught me the importance of teamwork and that your colleagues can always help.
Second, I learned how to keep a schedule. “But Chloe, that’s easy.” No, you don’t understand. Time management isn’t an easy task for many, especially college students, to accomplish. In addition to my internship, working a part-time job, being a part-time student AND planning my wedding, it was quite the task to figure out when and how to work on everything. After helping my mentor, Amanda Munster, manage client’s social media and research strategy, it became easy to sort everything else in my schedule.

No. I didn’t simply learn about teamwork and time management. I experienced it. I truly understand it. Two of the most important lessons Agency Entourage taught me aren’t just words I can add on a resume. I gained valuable life lessons I can carry with me into future careers and anything else to come.
I know it sounds cheesy, but honestly, Agency Entourage taught me so many things. Among learning the importance of Pinterest, shadowing three awesome clients, navigating social media and really seeing what goes down during client meetings, I’m going to miss this place. Luckily, I have all the awesome skills I’ve picked up along the way as sweet, sweet memories.
