Hi everyone! My name is Payton White. I am one of Agency Entourage’s Summer 2019 interns. Born in Los Angeles, I decided to attend college in a state with seasons. Southern Methodist University was my place.
Drawn to Dallas
I am majoring in Advertising with a specialization in Digital Media Strategy. My minors include Graphic Design and Corporate Communications and Public Affairs. I’ve served on the executive board of Best Buddies SMU as the graphic design chair for the past two years. In high school, graphic design came naturally to me. Whether it was designing the yearbook or completing an independent study, it was always a stress reliever. When I was touring colleges, I felt drawn to advertising. I loved the way creativity met business. In addition, my dad is from Dallas and SMU was a part of my childhood. I dreamt of attending from a young age. Touring the Temerlin Advertising Institute made my decision even easier. It was the deciding factor!
Doing What I Love
I recently finished my first year in the advertising school. Not only have I further developed my passion for advertising but I have grown immensely as an individual! When I am not busy with classes, I frequent CorePower Yoga and travel as often as I can. Trying new restaurants has become a hobby as well! Since moving to Dallas, I have a newfound love for breakfast tacos and queso. A California native, I go to the beach whenever I can. When I’m in Dallas, you’ll catch me by a pool pretending! Keeping up on trends with a cup of coffee in my hand is the perfect day for me.
Designing My Future
Over the past few years, I have completed a variety of internships. From graphic designing in Prague to interior designing in West Hollywood, I have seen a lot! Agency Entourage will be my first experience at an advertising agency. I was drawn to AE because of the internship program and the collaboration the interns take part in. Collaboration to me is a key factor in learning and growing. It is a great way to learn about each specific department as well as the agency’s general operations. I hope to learn about each department and discover where I excel!
