Welcome! My name is Mark Deniel Guerra Sampelo, and I am excited to start my internship at Agency Entourage.
Curious. Confident. Joyful. I consider myself a jack of all trades, primarily because I live on the principle of being a student in everything life has to offer while making the most out of every moment. I am currently pursuing a B.S. in Marketing at the University of Texas at Dallas, and will be graduating in May 2016. I work as a part-time bank teller at BB&T and am the president of the Filipino Student Association on campus. I also find time to exercise, whether through long-distance running or lifting weights, and try to spend weekends enjoying the outdoors through nature trails (when I can). Now, I am excited to add interning at Agency Entourage to all of my commitments.
“How do you balance all of that, Mark?” Well, it takes a lot of patience and a strong will in conjunction with a strong pride in all my endeavors.
My grandparents and aunt raised me in the Philippines, where I was born. I spent my summers on my grandparents’ farm in Quezon and spent the rest of the year in Manila with my aunt for pre-school. My parents at the time were in Saudi Arabia, both working at a hospital, saving money to send our family to the US. After living both sides as a farm boy and a city boy, I was comfortable with my life, without a care in the world. The day came when it was time for me to rejoin my parents in the US and everything changed. As a five-year-old immigrant, I had no idea where I was or where I was going, but I had a feeling I would make this my home. This would be a life lesson I would unknowingly take in as I moved to Frisco, went on to college, and then set out as an intern at Agency Entourage.
My good friend, Zoe Esteves, referred me to Agency Entourage. With interests in sports and fashion, we met through the Filipino Student Association and naturally clicked. Zoe spent a good deal of time recommending Agency Entourage as a possible internship opportunity. He thoroughly enjoyed his time as an intern and gathered a lot of knowledge in his particular field of interest, which was primarily SEO Marketing. By taking higher-level marketing classes, I understood the necessity of digital marketing. I sought after the internship in hopes of gaining insight in the field. However, during my interview, Tara and Brandon explained how Agency Entourage does more than digital marketing, and how this company is on the pathway to touching all fields of marketing. They saw my potential in account service and that is where I will be spending a majority of my time here.
I am filled with joy for what these upcoming weeks will bring, and grateful for this opportunity. Honestly, I am just absolutely thrilled and look forward to seeing how I will grow with my new family at Agency Entourage.
