While a day of social media management for a brand or client is extremely rewarding, sometimes you’ve just got to get yourself prepared for all of the tweeting, blogging, brand management, researching and (possibly) crisis communications that you do, and do well. That’s where a great playlist and some killer tracks can come in!
Around the Agency Entourage office, it’s a music friendly environment that allows us all to work in a creative, collective atmosphere. More often than not, someone is playing a fun 80’s playlist over the speakers or a new album from bands like Mumford & Sons or Arcade Fire. We use AirTunes so the entire office has a soundtrack to enjoy while we work. Of course, we can always hideaway in our offices and listen to our personal musical preferences, but what’s the fun in that?
To help you put together the ultimate social media management playlist, I’ve asked around the office to see what type of music, songs and artists get my co-workers pumped up for a day at work. Check out their responses:
Break My Stride – Matthew Wilder
“I enjoy the upbeat, motivational lyrics. The lyrics are perfect for getting the attitude to conquer the day!” – Andrea
I Don’t Feel Like Dancin’ – Scissor Sisters
“My roommate in college and I used to put this on in the morning before class and ever since then, it’s always made me smile and think about getting ready for the day!” – Hayley
All Because of You – Sooner the Sunset
“I really like the upbeat sound of this song. I’ve been listening to Sooner the Sunset, which consists of Graham Colton and Lindsey Ray, a lot lately and their music is great to listen to at work.” – Ben
“This song just has great drive with the synth, and it talks about getting back up to be bigger, faster, stronger. Rawr!” – Jake
“I can’t believe how popular this song has become, but I really like how fun it is and it helps me code quickly.” – Liwei
Mama Said Knock You Out – LL Cool J
“My mother always told me to “knock it out” when doing a job, so this song motivates me.” – Nathan
Watch the Throne Album – Jay-Z and Kanye West
“The entire “Watch the Throne” album by Jay-Z and Kanye West gets me amped to do anything. I love the triumph-ic drum beats and celebratory theme.” – Jonathan
“This song came out the summer of 2003. It was Beyoncé’s first song as a solo artist. I was riding in the car with my brother and sister when it first came on the radio and instantly loved it. This song reminds me of being a child, which brings back good memories, and Beyoncé has always been an idol of mine. Her strides and successes get me pumped up and excited to tackle the day!” – DeAndre
“This fast-paced, fun song is great to listen to during my morning commute. Mind Spiders is a local band and one of my go-to artists to listen to all day at work. They help me get moving, thinking and help me stay productive.” – Nealy (Me)
As I’ve mentioned before, music is a big part of my life and the way social media has been able to expand a band’s awareness or let fans instantly stream their favorite artist’s new single is pretty mind blowing. I can’t say for sure that social media has hurt or helped the music industry, but I think it’s helped a lot of people get discovered (Justin Bieber, anyone?), allow fans to better connect with their favorite artists and more.
I hope this list helps you get pumped up and ready for the day. Be sure to subscribe to it on Spotify! And if you’re looking for a digital marketing agency that likes to have a little fun but will serve up a “Grammy winning” digital campaign, check us out Agency Entourage and be sure to visit our Capabilities page to see what we can do for you.
