Hi friends! My name is Carolyn Cunningham. I recently graduated from Louisiana State University, where I majored in Marketing and minored in Mass Communications. I am so excited to have the opportunity to work with the Agency Entourage team this summer!
How Did I End Up At LSU?
Growing up, my family moved quite a few times, 6 to be exact. I was born in New Orleans, LA, and I will always consider it home. We made our first move to Texas when I was 5. I spent most of my elementary school years in Madison, MS, before we moved back to Texas, where I graduated from high school. Now, my family lives in Pennsylvania, which is certainly different than anywhere we have lived before. These experiences and living in different places made choosing a college that might be far from home a less daunting choice. I knew I wanted a big school that was rich in culture and would push me out of my comfort zone. The second I stepped foot on LSU’s campus, I knew it was the right fit for me. I’ve had the experiences of a lifetime there from finding my passion to meeting lifelong friends and attending the National Championship this past January (Geaux Tigers!).
Why Marketing?
I have been a Marketing major since my first day of college. During my freshman year, I realized that I loved challenging my creative skills, whether it be writing, designing or public speaking. So, I added Mass Communication classes into the fold of my regular schedule. Although I loved all of my classes, I wasn’t sure exactly what my future looked like beyond college. I was fortunate enough to intern with several companies like The Scout Guide, MakersValley and Pfizer, which have all given me wildly different experiences to understand the marketing world. I now have the opportunity to put to work everything I have learned thus far and gain knowledge of the agency side of marketing with Agency Entourage.
What’s Next?
Anyone that knows me knows I love a plan. I like to know precisely what is coming so I can be prepared, but oftentimes that isn’t how life goes. I have found my passion for digital marketing, whether it’s through social media, blogs, websites or whatever else; and I’d like to continue with digital content creation and strategies. Although I could never pick one place I’ve lived as my favorite, Dallas has always felt like home. I think it would be a great place to land and start my career at this point in my life. But, I’m open to whatever opportunities may arise. For now, I’ll be enjoying time at home with my family and working for Agency Entourage!
