Austin Allen

I’ve been an intern in Dallas at Agency Entourage for 10 weeks now. During my time here at AE I’ve also been taking an additional 15 credit hours at the University of North Texas. This has by far been my busiest and most challenging semester. That said, it has also been the most rewarding.

I learned to write.

Before my internship at Agency Entourage I considered myself a pretty good writer. When I say pretty good, I actually mean really awesome. I soon realized that writing for SEO (Search Engine Optimization) is a completely different ball game. I’ve written a lot of YouTube video descriptions and blog posts designed to attract attention to our clients on Google. Looking at my work over these eventful 10 weeks, there is a definite progression in the quality of my writing.

“Always be tagging.”

Social media is no joke at Agency Entourage. We handle everything from Pinterest to LinkedIn. I’ve been lucky enough to work with Senior Interactive Producer, Michael Haake, on social media content. It’s been a blast planning social posts for real clients. I’m always excited to wait and see how much engagement my posts receive.

A Real Workplace Atmosphere.

It’s refreshing to work with talented professionals who are just as dedicated as I am. Agencies that work hard also play hard. As I’m typing right now, we’re talking about the intricacies of American pop culture concerning Paris Hilton, Kim Kardashian and Lionel Richie. Like I said, “real workplace atmosphere.”

Ok, we have more fun than just talking about random famous people. Since I’ve been here AE has celebrated countless birthdays (including mine) and Halloween. The Thanksgiving office party is also on the books. There’s other fun agency events as well. In October, the entire agency took a Friday to visit the Texas State Fair. We’re also having a chili cook-off next week. Agency Entourage is a pleasant place to work with some wacky vibes to match the Downtown Dallas locale.

I’ve really enjoyed my first 10 weeks here, and I’m looking forward to the rest of the semester. Agency Entourage is a great place for any student seeking an internship at a digital marketing agency. There’s only so much you can learn in a class room. Take a breath of fresh air and step into the real world. By the way, Agency Entourage is accepting resumes for the 2014 spring internship program.
