To begin, the plugin forces you to choose a focus keyword. By including this step, the plugin is already helping you create better content! Choose your focus keyword, and Yoast helpfully displays a list of the most important keyword locations, along with the number of times the keyword has appeared in each one.
But be careful – following Google guidelines, you don’t want to “keyword stuff,” or include your keyword too many times throughout the post. Fortunately, WordPress SEO will even warn you if the keyword percentage rate is too high.
Next, click the “SEO: Check” link in the Publish box at the top of the page. WordPress SEO will give you an SEO ranking, as well as places to improve upon.
