One way of reaching your customers is the podcast. Podcasts are defined as ” a type of digital media consisting of an episodic series of audio radiovideoPDF, or ePub files subscribed to and downloaded through web syndication or streamed online to a computer or mobile device.”

The primary purpose of creating a podcast is so that your audience can easily consume your message at a later date. Here are a few tips to keep in mind that will help make your podcast successful.

Identify what your overall goals are. What are you trying to achieve with podcast? Do you want to get more people in to your store? Do you want to enhance social media presence? While you’re brainstorming ideas, keep your target audience in mind. Make sure that the topics you choose are relevant to them. Imagine that this podcast is your way of having a direct conversation with them.

Always record with more than one person.  Because podcasts are generally at least 20 minutes in length, it can be difficult for one person to sustain talking points for that long. Having an additional person there will make it easy for the conversation to flow, and will help to eliminate dead air or awkward pauses.

Syndicate! Getting your podcast on iTunes is free. With minimal effort you can get your message onto one of the world’s largest multimedia platforms and into your customer’s hand. While it may have taken you an hour or so to get the podcast recorded, it will continue to receive engagement for however long you decide to keep it up.

Podcasts are an easy and fun way to spread messages to your target audience. As a top advertising agency in Dallas, we  encourage our clients to think outside the box and explore fun, interactive mediums, such as podcasts.
