Interactive ProducerI get asked about what I do at Agency Entourage all the time. It can be a little hard to explain to people who aren’t familiar with the title “Interactive Producer” or haven’t worked in the industry. So, today I’ll tell you everything you need to know about Interactive Producers.

What does an Interactive Producer do? 

Let me start off by giving you a quick refresher on exactly who I am and what I do at Agency Entourage. My name is Michael Haake. I’m a Senior Interactive Producer. I spend my time at work fulfilling Interactive Producer duties (we’ll discuss these later on) and assisting other Interactive Producers.

So, what does an Interactive Producer do? Well, we do a lot of different things for our clients. The best way to explain the role of an Interactive Producer is a hybrid Account Coordinator and Content Creator. Here’s a quick breakdown of each:

Content Creation

Interactive Producers create content for their clients. Some of the content we create includes: blogs, social media, email marketing and copywriting for all kinds of media. 


They are knowledgeable in the latest Search Engine Optimization best practices and they implement it into their client’s digital content.

Social Media

We create engaging content that sets our clients’ social profiles apart from their competition. We use the following platforms: Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Google +, LinkedIn, Pinterest, Youtube, Houzz and many more.

We also strategically target audiences on social media through Facebook PPC, LinkedIn ads and Twitter sponsored posts.

Digital Brand Management and Monitoring

An Interactive Producer is constantly monitoring his/her client’s online brand. He/she stays up-to-date with the latest industry trends and breaking news in order to get his/her clients an edge above the rest.

Project Management

Interactive Producers communicate directly with clients. They also project manage web design, development work and video production.


A smart person once said, “you can’t track what you don’t measure.” Interactive Producers meet with their clients regularly and discuss analytics. Their reports usually include statistical information and comparisons from the following: web traffic, organic SEO results, Facebook demographics, Twitter events, Instagram trends, email marketing open rates and a lot more.
